The summer is going swimmingly, by far. I'm living up in boston with Alaina, Jess, Jay, and Soumo (appologies in advance for misspelling your name, but you'll never read this.) The activity for the day has been adopting a cat. she's a beutiful 1-2 years old cat, who was found by a construction site in danbury with a litter of kittens. She's up to date with all her shots, spayed, and she's even got one of those home-again micro-chips. She's simply adorable, spent the whole day wandering around the house getting used to things. I'd say I'd post pictures, but given the frequency in which I update, it'll be a rarity if I post before next month.

A DEUS

You know, back in the old days, when the new calender was put into place, thoes who still celebrated the old new year where ridiculed and made to be the butt of jokes. But you know what, that pissed the old calender off, and you know what? Guess who'll be laughing when you find out you're celebrating the new year on some hideously outdated day. I move that the New Year be moved back to it's place of glory, back where it was in the beginning... Because, deep down, I think everyone knows that the world came into being on my Birthday, April 1st.

Salads. Fuck salads.

so the day went well, I got my mail to find two shiny new contact balls, (three inch steel spheres, nice weight, chrome mirror finish, absolutely beautiful) and a kickass sweet board game from my Dad. After classes and things, I came back to my dorm to do a nice bit of computer work and board checking, but much to my dismay, I check my watch to find that it's 6:40. Ten minutes past the end of dinner. Why the crap does the dining hall close at 6:30? usually I barely get hungrey untill 6:30-7:00. So luckaly, I asked the dining room manager if I could snag a quick sammich, because there's a selection of salads and sangueeches pre-wrapped in a refrigerated display case, for the grab-and-go snackery. He said yes, as long as I put it on my points in the morning, because the register was closed. "Sweet deal" I think, and stroll over to the rack. However, to my dismay, there's barely to pieces of bread to rub together. Only salads. Fuck salads. Yes, there have been some prety good salads around. Chicken salad sammich for one, is a prety damn fine treet. And theres no salad in the world better than grammy's potatoe salad. But if I wanted to have my salad tossed, (which I don't) Newbury cafeteria is most definately not where I'd go. Luckaly, I grabbed the last salad with any sembiance of real food in it. Chicken ceaser. Now, don't get me wrong, I don't have any animosity towards romans, or anything of that nature. But this salad blows. It may be because I forgot to pick up any sort of dressing, but that's beside the point.

I fail to see how salads ever got the title "healthy food" Because I can't place anything specifically healthy about them. Foliage, carying some bit of dietery fiber, which is a plus, But the lettuce is mostly water, and furthermore, a vehicle for dressing. Returning to point A. I have no dressing. I mean, other than that, theres chicken, theres crutons, and theres a bit of grated cheese. Not bad for you in any sense, so it must be good.

Yeah, And I forgot to snag a drink as well.

Luckaly I've got an incredible ammount of Easter/AP Candy laying about to tide me over till the fastest of breaks. Luckaly, the North Pole throughly endorses the art of snacking, encouraging all heads of state to keep a daily regiment of it, allong with croquet.

" For, my fellow Heads of State, let us recall that SNACKING ENSUES, and as such, it is such, and shall remain such, evermore, more so, and furthermore moreover more. Henceforth, go forth... and snack."

Ugh, For some reason I'm feeling rather crappy this morning. Given, I've got a hell of a lot to be happy about; Morgan's heading off for the dominican republic today and will be gone all week, this easter weekend is going to be wonderful, I'm sitting in workstudy (doing absolutely nothing) and making $8 an hour, I didn't have anything to do till 11:00 today so I got a great ammount of sleep (much needed). But for some reason, I still feel like crap. Right now I have to fill out my course selection for next year, which is tedious, but easy. The only problem I'm having with it, is figuring out what elective to take. It almost seems like theres nothing fun or interesting, or at the very least easy, that I could take in addition. Not to mention I have to shift around my entire schedual because I need to take a single mod, meaning I can't take afternoon classes (after 2:00) even though the mod is only for a quarter of the semester. And then once I get all this done I've got to go around and find my advisor, Cheff D'Adario, who is habitually hard to find, and even once I find him I know he's not going to be the least bit helpful. In addition, I talked to both my mom and dad about not coming home easter weekend, and I couldn't help but think that they where a little unhappy that I wouldn't be home. My mom at least, she's seeming to start missing me. My Dad however, didn't seem to care too much, but I'd have no way of knowing untill 2 weeks later, if he brings it up in some sort of argument. On top of that, I've got to secure an internship for this summer by the end of the month, and I am completely lost on what the process is. I've heard everything from 'newbury will contact your prospective internship sites, and set up an interview, working out a lot of things with the internship' to 'you're on your own, find someplace' and the last time I talked to the Internship Advisor, she just told me that there'll be a meeting sometime in april, of which since then I've heard absolutely nothing about. It better be soon, because I'm going to have to stay back if I don't have an internship this summer.

Aside from that, I ended up paying my housing deposit for next year of $250 out of pocket, and it's a little un-nerving, because I have absolutely no clue who I want to live with next year, let alone where and which building. I sort of want to throw it to the wind, and be paired with some random person, but at the same time that frightens me because there are so many people I just wouldn't want to room with. In addition, it doesn't help that I've only got a ballpark idea of how much money's in my checking account. I think I have another couple hundred from workstudy checks and birthday cash, but I've lost so much track of transactions I've given up on balancing my checkbook entirely.
I also on impulse dropped down $36 on more Contact Juggling balls. I really got my hopes up for some Hollow Steel spheres my mom was getting me for my birthday, but as it turns out she ordered them from a garden supply store, not a juggling store, so they're at least 10 times too light, they've got an ugly seem that gives a tremendous ammount of tell to isolations, and they've got a rough hole about 4 mm large on each of them. So long story short, they're nothing like anything I can consistantly use, and rather dissapointing. So I said fuck it, and ended up ordering my own, hopefully they'll get in tommorow or the day after.

::sigh:: I more than definately need a break.

<lj:music>Gandalf Murphy and the Slambovian Circus of Dreams - Genius</lj:music>

Honestly, that spring break was a lot better than I give it credit for. It will in no way compare to my first day back though.

I'm glad I was reminded of the band Gandalf Murphy and the Slambovian Circus of Dreams, because they are by far, a hella tight band.

I can honestly say that life's never been better. Yeah there are midterms this week, but for some reason I've just got this overwhelming sense of complete and total bliss. It's like someone bottled happiness, infused it with total awesome, and then carefully handcrafted the bottle out of bacon. And then furthermore, a large delivery truck containing the worlds first shipment of Bacohappisome crashed just of MA-9, just at the precise moment I was walking up to school, and in a freek accident I was doused head to toe, exceeding the reccomended dose by 800%, turning me into some sort of bhudda-superhero.

Yes doctor, I did catch the plate of the truck that hit me, it read Alaina.

And now 5 minutes to get to class. Friggen Algebra. If it wasn't for the gourmet coffee bar at lunch today, I would be dead asleep now.

Spring Break

Well, My mood has increased tenfold from last update. I'm still the only one home for spring break, and Jen's still being a real bitch, and none of my friends who are home are really free enough to hang out, (sans Kacey, thanks again) but really, right now I'm perfectly OK with that. I mean, yeah i'd rather be hanging out with my friends than being bored around the house, but the'll be plenty of time to hang out with them through the years. Yeah I wish me and Jen where getting along, but on the upside, it's a bit of a relief to finally have an ex-girlfriend whom you can hope has a terribly tragic and shitty time from here on in. Yeah my Dad's a Jackass, but I'm going to be off at college again in two more days anyway, with no plans on seeing him again till most likely summer vacation.

Ahh, two more days till I'm back at college, hanging out with Alaina, re-joining the normal party schedual, getting back in touch with Jess up at BU, and finally getting to see what present Camilla sent me from Hawaii.

For some reason, the knowlege that this week is soon to be over, seems to make the last leg of it all the more bearable.

It's just one thing after another. This spring break, (aside from the time last weekend spent with chris pete, scott and oz) has been a slow descent into madness and frustration. One bad thing after another. I can't wait to head back to college again.

Well, life's been fantastic so far. I've got another 15 minutes till class, and not much new to report. Oh, I gave blood today, and that was fun. It was a little unsettling though, that the person actually handling the needles and such was just learning, and seemed rather timid and unsure of herself. Half way through the needle almost went through the other wall of my vein... Yeech. But aside from that everything went well.

Oh, and BTW,
Happy Steak and BJ day everyone!

Ahh. Total Bliss. The last week has been some crazy sort of magical mystery ride, and the rollercoaster seems to only be inches away from the turnstyle. Like, the only way to have made this week better, would be if I somehow created a device that made people crap themselves... And then I mounted this device on a blimp... Durring the superbowl... Where I drove the blimp... and Don Knotts was still alive, and somehow gave me ten million dollars, joining me in my blimpride of professional athletic defication.

But enough shooting the shit, life is wonderful. Absolutely wonderful.

So I'm coming back from the MIT Juggling club on the T yesterday, and I'm just sitting there contact juggling... and this guy walks up to me, and asks if I have a buisiness card. Unfortunately, I didn't have any on me at the time, so he gave me his email adress, wants to book me for a party..

But I've never worked a party before... what the hell would I do?

This semesters roomates.

Sweet damn, I finally got to try Absynth. And lemme tell you. It tastes like crap...

But that's entirely on a different story.

It's funny the small things you notice about your roomates, and the quirky little routines and relations you end up falling into. Like for instance, I will wake up go to class, come back past noon, come through the door, and turn the lights on. Morgan's not sleeping, he's up and about as anyone chilling around the room. Just no lights. Same way with Garett, only he's been totaly MIA for the past week and a half. And at night (much like right now) Everyone will leave the lights on, unless everyones asleep. No one will mind to turn the lights off when they turn in, or ask someone to put on a desk lamp... So as it turns out, (me the only one who doesn't retire early, or can sit quaintly in bed with their laptop) End up turning off the lights when I'm ready for sleep.

It's the crazy little things you notice like that, that end up making you wonder if you're by-chance just making it all up. Reading some absolutely phenominal graphic novels that question the fabric of reality doesn't quite help in the situation either.

But hypothetically, if you had immaginary roomates, what would clue you off to them? Often something that can clue you off to dreaming, is the flicking of a lightswitch. I mean, it's perfectly feasable (aside from the idea of being alone in a quad) that they may be immaginary, I never see them around on the floor talking to anyone... There either chilling around the room, or off somewhere else, totaly beyond my comprehension. What's absolutely helarious though, is that last semesters roomate, Brian, was much the same way.

Ah, nothing like comics and sleep deprivation to get the brain juices flowing.
